We would like to request your assistance and support of the 7th International Conference on Urban Health by booking your accommodations exclusively at the conference hotels: The Westin Bayshore Resort & Marina (host hotel), The Listel Hotel and The Pacific Palisades Hotel. These hotels were chosen for the numerous benefits they offered the conference as well as the attendees. Accommodations reserved outside the ICUH 2008 Conference contracted conference blocks may seem less expensive but in reality it jeopardizes the benefits you enjoy as an attendee: Reduction in registration fees, costs for the conference, for committees, and social activities as well as discounts on many of the items needed for the conference. Equally important is our ability to determine actual needs for future planning. If we don’t fill our block, ICUH is exposed to paying monetary penalty fees, which may jeopardize the conference in future years.

Your loyalty and co-operation are greatly appreciated.

Vancouver is a popular destination year round and hotel rooms are often at a premium. We urge you to secure your room with one of the host hotels TODAY.

The Westin Bayshore, Vancouver

The Westin Bayshore, Vancouver

Situated in Vancouver’s picturesque Coal Harbour, the Westin Bayshore offers its guests the best of both worlds – accessibility to the heart of Vancouver while providing a relaxing resort-like atmosphere.

With views of the inlet, the North Shore Mountains and Stanley Park, nature is at your doorstep.  Enjoy a walk or jog along the seawall to the historic 1,000 acre Stanley Park or stop to enjoy a coffee or a snack at one of the numerous cafes along the way.  The area is a hub of activity with yachts and sailboats docking at the nearby marina while the seaplanes fly overhead.

Upon returning from your outing you can relax in one of the saunas or try an in-room massage treatment.  Or if you’re looking for more exercise, you can take advantage of the state-of-the-art equipment in the fitness centre or take a dip in either the indoor or outdoor pool.

At the end of the day, you can unwind in one of the 511 guest rooms, featuring their signature Heavenly Bed® as you enjoy a spectacular view of the water, mountains or city. All guest rooms feature the standard amenities of in-room movies, mini bar, iron & ironing board, hairdryer plus deluxe bath amenities, internet access and floor to ceiling windows.  The Westin is also proud to be a smoke-free property.
